Discover©, or American Express© card to pay for school pictures, lunch charges, shirts, activity fees – anything that you would normally pay for with cash or a check. We’re excited about this additional payment option we’ve added for your convenience. Payments made using a credit card can be done in the business office in the “old” front of the school across from the nurse’s office. Student Holiday Friday October 3rd!
As a reminder, Friday October 2nd is a teacher professional development day and a student holiday. College students who have Friday classes or labs at Angelina College will be expected to attend their classes as usual. The college bus will run its usual schedule on Friday to accommodate these students.
Scheduled Power Outage Thursday, October 2nd at 5:00 p.m.
On Thursday, October 2nd at 5:00 p.m. all power to the school building will be turned off for approximately two hours to allow Oncor to move the existing lines to the new power poles. All activities at the school will end at 5:00 p.m. that day. All students in the elementary and secondary afterschool programs must be picked up by 5:00 p.m. on that day. Power will be restored to the building by 7:00 p.m. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Nurse Notes
All immuniztions must be up to date by October 1st or your child will be sent home from school and unable to return until the child has received all state required immunizations. Please see the nurse notes for important information about immuniztions, hearing and vision screening.
Student Health Advisory Council Meeting
Thursday October 9th at 5:00 in the Timberwolves Cafeteria there will be a SHAC meeting. These meetings are open to everyone. All aspects of sudent health and safety issues are discussed in order to provide our staff and students with a safe and healthy environment. Representatives from Administration, Cafateria, Physical Education, Counseling, Nursing, and Safety will be giving reports. Students, parents, and staff are welcome to attend.

Introduction to Pineywoods Community Academy


Pineywoods Community Academy is an open enrollment public charter school that opened its doors in 1998. Located at 602 South Raguet in Lufkin, Texas, Pineywoods offers a comprehensive elementary and secondary education program. The school serves students in PreKindergarten through grade 12. Designated an Early College High School by the Texas Education Agency, Pineywoods students spend part of their day at Angelina College beginning in grade 9 where they have the opportunity to take dual credit classes that allow students to earn high school and college credit at the same time. Transportation is provided for students from Pineywoods to the Angelina College campus. Students who begin the program in grade 9 have an opportunity to graduate with both a high school diploma and up to 60 college hours including an Associate Degree from Angelina College.
